Giants Manningham: “Um, thank you Coach Belichick.”

Ahmad Bradshaw, Mario Manningham

New York Giants wide receiver Mario Manningham was asked during Monday night’s Super Bowl XLVI DVD what his reaction was when he heard Patriots head coach Bill Belichick tell his defense to allow Manningham to beat them on the Giants final drive.

“Um, thank you. That’s all,” Manningham said per the Newark Star-Ledger. “Thank you. I appreciate it. I was just trying to go out there and make a play. I don’t really have too much to say.”

“I know what I can do, I know what I’m capable of doing. I’m glad he did that. Thank you. But I know what type of player I am.”

I’m sure anyone within the Giants organization would say thank you as well. But in the end, the Patriots really didn’t have a choice. They essentially had to pick their poison because there was no way for them to cover the Giants trio of receivers.
